When ever I'm getting to know someone I'll ask about their musical preferences. Well Everytime I tell them my favorite band a lot of them degrade and criticize my favorite band even though they have never had one bad album. is it normal to get frustrated at people who do that?
I make friends very easily because I don't criticise what other people like once they tell me that they like it. That is rude as hell. Now if you asked me for my opinion of the band, and I didn't like it, I'd say "well, they're ok" not "I f**king hate them and everything they stand for". I don't know enough about any band to spread that much hate.
Now if I am really high, that is a different story.
They sound like assholes, tell them that their opinions aren't as valid as their parents say they are.
I could go on all day having a flame war with someone if the say anything about the bands I like, but then i'll go right around and make a joke about them myself, lol.
I don't criticise someone for having different likes and dislikes as far as music as long as they don't criticise me. I don't like when people are jealous and shit talk people though. Like some guy was spreading rumours about the lead guy from Bayside. Well they did have an internet war but I think he exaggerated a bit. He's just an asshole.
Im curious aswell. Very normal, however if they HAVE actually listened( judging from the story, most/all havent) and still dislike them, at least respect their opinion. Unless their dicks about it, which is usually the case
