Is it normal to get dumped over facebook?

I had a crush on a girl for 7-8 months and finally got the courage to ask her out. She said yes and 2 days later she stood me up. A few hours after I got back home she sent a message over facebook saying 'this wouldn't work I'm sorry' and hasn't spoken to me since. Now personally I feel a bit short changed so I'm asking here: Is this kind of thing normal for someone to do over the internet?

It's not really getting dumped, it's rejection. If you were boyfriend and girlfriend and she dumped you that would've been harsh. But she just denied the first date.

She shouldn't have stood you up though.

    • I'd agree if she hadn't accepted the date in the first place, but she did and now she's found someone else after less than a month. Women are bloody confusing :P

Don't get me wrong. She was rude. You came to her in person and she denied you online. She should've at least treated the situation with more respect.

I just don't think it's the same as getting dumped.

  • No but it's only gonna get normal with the years now, thanks to the Internet. Shows how people can't even have the courage to do this face to face. She wasn't worth it.

How rude! The least she could've done was tell you in person. Forget her, you'll find someone better.
