You sound like you are telling the early years of my drinking career. Thanks! I needed to be reminded of where I came from. My name is Joe and I'm an Alcoholic!

The very fact that you are wondering tells me you've already crossed the line between normal drinking and heavy drinking.....next comes alcoholism. If it was normal, then you wouldn't be asking.

oh it's fine! i used to get drunk mondays, tuesdays then a break and then friday and saturday! and i had to go to collage the next days as well!
But you are in a phase!
While u r young do whatever! Until u realize that after a certain age, u r not young any more and getting drunk every weekend make u irrisponsible ;p

Ive been through several phases like this during my life, the important thing is that if it affects your life, or, someone else`s in any adverse way, it makes sense to cut down, like you I tend to binge, the problem being you end up doing stupid stuff, including things you later regret etc so it sounds like you might be developing a drink problem to me, if allowed to get out of control it can and does ruin lives I had to make some conscious choices of who to drink with as well, to try and minimise adverse events, which became far to often whilst drinking with the wrong people.

Its also not easy if you are surrounded by big drinkers, some of whom might not like it when you try to cut down your frequency of drinking with them, so, if you find yourself drinking too much in certain circumstances or falling out with others who may become aggressive whilst drinking, definitely you may need to change your habits.

If the constant drunkness means you never remember friends you've met or can't get a lady (or man) friend - then it would be good to have a clear headed night every now and then to get better perspective. (maybe try light beer, or half shots of spirits)

And from experience, I hate working 5 days, then drinking all weekend that I forget it happened and it's time to go back to work again. Really sucks! But if you've got a vibrant weekday social life then go for it.

I'm same way 19 almost 20 too. I figure have fun now cause wen u get older and get drunk every weekend u look like a idiot. I also get mad at myself too cause I work weekends as well as weeks but sometimes I gotta be to work at 6 am and I'm out drinking till 3 so it makes gettin up a lil difficult.

Not good. Getting a little tipsy once in a while is ok, but getting very drunk all the time is extremely harmful to yourself and potentially to others. If you want to kill yourself slowly with liver poisoning, so be it. Just make sure you never drink and drive because you will kill other people.

I've been getting drunk at least twice a week since I was 13 and it hasn't done me much harm. Kept me going if anything. It's normal.
