Is it normal to get cut during a pedicure?

I have only had two pedicures so far, but have been cut enough to bleed each time. Is it normal to expect to get cut during a pedicure?

Go to a different nail place.

No! Find another more reputable spa and a doctor just incase you get a infection.

  • No way. I've had many pedicures; I get at least two a summer. I have never been cut. You are allowed to tell them they are hurting you and if they aren't easing up, find a different spa.

I was upset that the girl didn't utter a single word to me while doing the pedicure, then when she cut me I said to her, "You just cut me." She didn't say sorry or anything at all, but after about 2 more minutes passed she started making small talk. A minute or two later, she was getting a little rough again and I told her it was getting painful. Again, she didn't acknowledge my comment at all and started the small talk again. It was upsetting to say the least.

When they do a pedicure they often want to clean your cuticle which seems painful but said to be good. I don’t see why people would not just do this themselves. My mother complained about them hurting when she went. She has all the tools she needs and a huge kit of nail supply’s.

When they use the cuticle things I get cut sometimes, not every time though. Try another salon or try it yourself.

I think you should consider going somewhere else for your future pedicures. It really isn't normal.

I know someone who got an infection after getting a bad pedicure and she lost most of her toenail.

No! Especially not regularly. Everyone makes mistakes but being cut consistently isn't acceptable IMO. Like Avant-Garde said, you could get an infection and that's just painful and no fun at all.
