Is it normal to get annoyed when someone says fifteen hundered instead of one thousand five hundred or twelve hundred instead of one thousand two hundred, etc. It gets on my nerves, I don't know why.

Lol I'm the opposite.. I dislike saying or hearing it as 'one thousand two hundred' instead of 'twelve hundred'

Don't ever get a job in financial risk management or managed care insurance. Haha! IW, DOI, PP, IME, SMO, TPD, TTD, PTD, PPD, CA, DA, ALJ, STIPS, etc.

When you have to work in mm, you have to work saying twelve hundred compared to say one thousand two hundred or else you would get the measurements wrong. All tradies do it :-)

It takes longer to say it properly. We would probably waste a lot of time if we didn't abbreviate stuff, and I'm bad at math so I can't tell you how much time. Probably twelve hundred seconds (hee, hee)

I don't like that, either! It bugs me when they don't say the whole number the original way.

Thanks for all ya feedback. I know people do it so it's easier to say and actually, I'm pretty pathetic at maths too, but whenever someone does it I just feel like, "Grrr... you're not saying it right!"
