...when people bash musicians when they chance their style or do something out of the ordinary?

For example, Avril Lavigne changed her style from dark to more happy, and everybody was bashing her. It was fine. Same with the Black Eyed Peas. There more poppy now but still as good. And every review on Maroon 5 says that they are bad because they changed their style after Songs About Jane. Bands evolve people! And Britney Spears, she grew up after Oops I Did It Again, so of course her music will change.

Is it normal?

    bands shouldn't change their sound or stlye its a big dissapointment to fans who loved their original stlye and changing it only pisses them off

    theres no need to bash anyone. either grow with the band, or just stick to what you enjoyed about them. end of story.

    well i agree mostly but not about britney. she is kinda in her own little league. most people are afraid of change or anything different so its hard for them to adapt. just ignore them and love whatever bands you love.

      I agree, when Metallica changed everyone bashed on them. If they don't like change that's their problem

    Bands do evolve, yes. But sometimes when they change the style of their music, it's not the style that some previous fans are fond of. So they "bash" on them.
