Is it normal to get angry when individuals contradict what you say?

Well, I went out to my best friends house this past weekend & we were having some beers & watching the bears game. A female asked me for a charger but I told her it wasn't on me, just a car charger. Here's the thing: (My car will charge any device while it is off & yes some model cars are capable of doing this). Now what pisses me off is when I told them that, THEY took that statement as my phone is NOT in my possession even though it was in the next room. My buzz was totally going down the drain & I got hostile for a brief moment. What do you guys think, am I wrong for getting that upset for a miscommunication or should I have spoken my mind?!?!

I think you should stop allowing such trivial things to irritate you to the point where you think it necessary to ask an online community if you were right or not.

Yes this is a really fascinating psychological occurrence. People get mad over this because they feel disrespected and overlooked. I would get mad too, and I guess it is normal.

I also believe you got mad because it is not the first time it happened. This occurrence accumulated to the point where you get mad and decided to write about it on is it normal. Am I right ?

Well u do have a valid point. This keeps happening with the same individual, so I thought maybe it was just them or whatever.

It is only them. There is no problem in you that could keep making this happen.

Maybe you're going crazy..losing your mind or something. Your post is a perfect example. See how you forgot that one very important detail that makes your statement very confusing. Maybe that's what happened and you're angry because you thought you were conscious of the words that slide through your mouth. The sad part is that I understand what you're saying and what makes you angry, so I might be crazy too.

So if I have this correct, when you said you didn't have a phone charger on you, it was somehow assumed that you didn't have your phone with you? That does sound a bit silly since a charger is not a phone but unless there are some missing details such as "AHAHA, you don't have your phone with you?", I don't see where it deserves an angry response.

"AHAHA, you don't have your phone with you?". . . That detail never occurred, but everything else did happen word for word. The reason why I got angry was the fact that they INSISTED that I said something I didn't say. So when I tried to explain, I couldn't get a single word in

Oh, that's a little more reasonable. See, in your post you made it seem you were mad over a miscommunication -which would not be normal-, but what you are actually mad over -which is normal- is people putting words in your mouth, thereby accusing you of saying something you didn't say.
So then, miscommunication; non-issue. Accusation; issue.
        Stamped: NORMAL.

You have a bit of a temper. You should cool it down. Sure you can get annoyed and all but to become hostile is just not right.

I'm honestly not an angry person, it's the fact that someone tells me something I didn't say OR assume that I meant something different then what I said originally. . . MAKES one angry
