Is it normal to get angry over the "wind chill factor"?

It's hogwash! All it is is yet another way to sensationalize the weather. The weather should be facts and nothing but the facts. Wind chill is NOT a fact and it's also useless.

The wind chill is just one of many weather cons. You are regularly blatantly lied to in your weather forecasts and even in weather records! I've kept a weather journal for a long time after noticing major lies put out by weather record data.

Does the weather really have to be interesting? I don't get it. People will still watch the weather regardless of how interesting it may be because they simply want to know what to expect. I'm really angry about weather reports. IIN?

  • Yeah, it's not a fact, but it gives you an idea of how to dress when you leave the house. For instance, do I need a toque and mittens today or will a scarf suffice? People like to know these things to avoid discomfort.

Take a wind chill pill, dude. ;)

You don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows.

A little birdie told me this.

How can wind chill be a myth if there really *are* days when the wind feels colder than the still air? You must either be trolling or have spent all your life in a place where it doesn't get any colder than 60 degrees Fahrenheit in the dead of winter.

    • Thermometers don't recognize it.

It's based on how some dude "thinks" you'll feel if you were standing outdoors naked. Literally. It's bunk. It's the "potential" feeling one "might" have based on heat loss on bare skin. It's nothing but sensationalizing the weather, I'm sorry that you're ignorant of this.

You've obviously never ridden a motorcycle. Wind chill is some serious business out on the road, man.
