Is it normal to get a yeast infection after your period?

okay, so, this has been bothering me; almost every time I end my period, a couple days later I start to get a yeast infection, it's not to do with the fact that I don't bathe down there or keep clean or anything, because, believe me. It's nasty, and I'm obviously going to keep it clean. Anyways, it's bothering me because I don't want to keep going in and talking to my doctor about it, so I was just looking for opinions or something.

Dipping a tampon in yogurt????? Uhhh, just eat the damn yogurt, especially if you're ever on antibiotics. Peroxide????? In your hoo- ha??? Uhhhh....that just don't sound right. But what do I know, I'm a bird.

Yogurt inside the vagina is more effective than eating it because it concentrates it right at the infection site. And the peroxide must be diluted in water, obviously. Both methods have been recommended to me by doctors, because I am allergic to most antibiotics.

I seeeee. Makes sense but it still seems gross to me, like it will curdle or something in there. Oh yuck.

You can try Monistat, you can buy it at most drug stores. If you're looking for more home remedy-type, you can try dipping a tampon in plain yogurt. The probiotics in the yogurt will feed the good bacteria that kill the bad bacteria. You can also try hydrogen peroxide. Small amounts of it are produced naturally in the vagina to help control bacteria levels. Antibiotics or monistat are probably your best bet.

It's not normal to get a yeast infection every month. I have them sort of frequent and it does happen after my period...but it's because of the diabetes. I've just been taking a probiotic tablet and it seems to work.

ask someone at your local drug store. and as foul as it sounds, you may have a yeast infection way up in your vagina.
