Is it normal to get a text, read it and not reply straight away?

Whenever I get texts from friends (or Facebook messages), I always read the messages the moment I get them but often don't reply straight away because I have to think about how to reply and make sure I'm doing and saying the right things at the right time.

    I do that but then i forget about it then i get another text saying did you get my text and then i forget to reply to that one too.

      I do this. Also with emails and PMs here. It sometimes takes me weeks. I wish I wasn't so lazy.

      exactly. I thought the thing that made texts what they are was the fact that you can take your time and not feel pressured to reply right away.

    I do the same sometimes unless the text needs to be answered right away for whatever reason. But texts such as "Hey" or "What you doing", sometimes I won't answer for an hour or so just because.
