Is it normal to get a complete different message from song lyrics?

I was listening to the song "Hey Jude" by the beatles and i was paying close attention to the lyrics for some reason, the i caught something weird, part of the lyrics say:
"so let it out and let it in,
hey jude, begin,
you're waiting for someone to perform with,
and don't you know that its just you,
hey jude, you'll do,
the movement you need is on your shoulder."
For some reason I get a complete defferent and wrong message from that part... idk why!

With art, there is no wrong way to interpret it. If someone says you are "wrong" they are just being pretentious.

It's how you interpret the meaning of the lyrics, that's all. Totally normal.

To me it's normal becuz alot of pple have their own opinions bout certain music they hear. Example: People nowadays LOVE listening to bubblegum hip-hop, but tha way i see it is that theres no creativity within that type of hip-hop, so i would view it in a different way..

I'm a songwriter and I agree that there's really no proper interpretation of art. A lot of the time even I don't know for sure what my lyrics are really about, and I always welcome different interpretations. Even if I think I know what I'm writing about, in the end it's just a guess. There are so many factors playing into the subconscious mind that no one really knows why they write what they write.
