Is it normal to fret when you are forced to eat a little over your usual?

I’m a Muslim and every day for suhoor I’ve been having cornflakes, well today my mom forced me into having a boiled egg as well and after eating it I got so angry I started shaking. I used to be really fat and I have lost 10+kg over the course of a year. Is it normal to be that terrified of food?

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

Religion has nothing to do with body weight. Your weight should be a healthy weight for your age, height, gender and body type but personal perception of your own weight can sometimes be different from reality. For example someone who is anorexic will usually be obsessed with the idea they are fat when in reality they are seriously under weight. Sometimes a person who is obese will live in denial and convince themselves they are a healthy weight.

You don't give any details about your weight, body type etc only that you lost 10 Kg. If you truly were overweight and lost this you have done well. But if you were already a healthy weight and lost this you may have become seriously under weight so maybe your mother is concerned for your well-being. So if you want honest answers to your post you need to give us a lot more information!

It sounds like you're borderline anorexic. Be careful. Eating an egg is not that big a deal on top of corn flakes. Actually eggs are one of nature's most perfect foods. Better than corn flakes.

If it's a plain, boiled egg, it's only about 70 calories more, which is not a big deal. If she made you eat twice the amount of Corn Flakes and milk for breakfast, then THAT would be a significant calorie increase. Though she really shouldn't be controlling the things you eat in the first place.
