Is it normal to frequently have dreams of zombies like 28 days later?

I almost always have dreams about the "zombies" from 28 days later tearing apart everyone i know. And if they dont tear them apart, they reanimate and become one of the zombies. Then im forced to either run away, or attempt to slaughter them. Unlike the others, when i get bit, i just bleed and feel pain, i never turn, but i always assume i will. I see cities burning, my mum, girlfriend, family lying on the floor, covered in blood, with my mum and my girlfriend both getting up to chase and kill me.

I wont go into more detail, but Is this normal? If not, how the hell do i stop this recurring?

Ive have this dream about 3 nights a week, for the past year. My girlfriend says sometimes i wake up screaming and trembling with sweat all over my face, but thats when i dont have these memorable dreams, but all i can recall is something worse than these zombie dreams. What is going on?

I have zombiedreams aswell. I've become used to them.
Before when I had issues with depression I had the worst vivid nightmares. But while I got better my dreams and my sleep became nicer. I think you should try lucid dreaming. And its a tool to be more active and aware of the fact that your dreaming and that you can control to some extent what is going to happen.
And some questions, did you go through something difficult recently? or a few years back, that gave you great trauma? Are you doing something, working, school?
    Are you a creative person?

Here's a few tips to get into that "state" i mentioned:

    - Start writing down your dreams in a book by the bed every morning. When you do this you make your concious understand the dreams and the pattern, and it will be easier to detect them. analyse the happenings and understand the fears that comes with it. The brain uses dreams as a tool to prepare you for what its afraid of what might come, thats why dreams can be so terrible.

    - When you actually ge to the point when you know you are dreaming, in the dream. Try to change what is going on. In my instance, I decided to look away or close my eyes in the dream, it might be small but it gave me some control of what I would allow to happen. If a car was coming at me, I would just close my eyes, and decide nothing would happen.

I've tried. I dont really write them down. But I have tried to lucid dream, its really difficult for me. It seems like my dreams are reality, I cant tell if im dreaming my dream. I did once, I imagined I had the powers of Peter Petrelli from "Heroes" it worked. But I awoke several minutes later.

I just about never have bad dreams. You're weird.

Your mind is probably in a bad state.

I don't know what you've been through or think of, but that's obviously what your brain keeps subconsciously bringing up. Maybe you watch too many zombie movies.

I've only watched 28 days and weeks later, Dawn of the Dead (2004) and Shaun of the Dead. I also played the Left 4 Dead series and Arma II: Operation Arrowhead (Day Z) although none of the games really bothered me much. Its just mainly the films like 28 Days series that keep recurring, not a zombie apocalypse persay. Just the whole virus (your infected in 10 seconds) thing.

Is seems like you've got an obsession. Even if it's an unintentional one.

The only reason I played these games was due to my dreams. I thought if i kill them in games, they wont be a threat in my dreams.

Try the power of therapy. May not cure but it can shed light on why you have them.
