Is it normal to forget things almost constantly?

Hi,
I have huge trouble remembering things all the time, I won't remember conversations or things that have happened even in the last few day, and short term memory is also bad.

I feel like holding onto a thought sometimes is like trying to keep hold of a wet bar of soap.
I personally feel my memory is a bit worse than normal. My girlfriend thinks it's absolutely terrible, and it can affect our relationship severely, though I think she has a really good memory.
Firstly I was asking for some opinions on what level of recall is normal, and secondly maybe for advice as to how to fix it. I've looked at the internet desperately for answers, but it only really tells you how to remember a sequence of things by imagining them as objects in your house and things like that, I need general day -to-day memory because it's starting to affect my life.
As a sidenote, I have had mild drug use occasionally, but never too much or too frequent, and this problem persisted long before any of that.
Many thanks! :)

Sir I feel you should seek help as this might cause serious trouble to you. Having this kind of memory is not normal at all and should get diagnosed. In the meantime I would suggest recording all the important things for future reference and using alarms to keep track of schedule.
Your girlfriend may also help you overcoming this.
    Best wishes...
