Is it normal to forget the chronological of events?

Is it normal to forget the chronological of events that happen 12 years ago? So I remember there are 5 events that happen, I'm sure it happens when I was 14. But I forgot the order or chronology of which one first and which one come after. I try to recall the chronology but I only have the "not sure" version.

I have a near-eidetic memory for some things but chonology is not one of my strong points, nor is identifying world countries by their outline.

Yesterday, I thought a colleague's daughter was fourteen when I started work here. Turns out she was six. That's about how bad I am.

I'm very bad at this. The time frame for my childhood is fucked up. I was born in the mid 90's and grew throughout the rest of the 90's but I associate all of my childhood as happening in 2000. I literally can't remember my life in the 90's. I have a hard time remembering The chronology for countries and other things.

Some people remember more than others.

Ya I am exactly the same way. I can remember tons of stuff from my child hood, but after about 2 years ago the chronology gets fucked up like a soup sandwich.

especially with tragedies. when i hear it's the decade since "insert catastrophe" im always shocked because it feels like 2 years not 10..
