Is it normal to follow signs?

Honestly, I feel a little bit like a basket case right now, so here goes....

I tripped on LSD for my first time this summer. I don't remember much of it, except I got caught in a mental loop about existence. It was....quite painful.

I got flashbacks the first time I smoked weed after it.

Is it normal that after I've tripped things that I sorta-kinda thought about before are now occur -MUCH- more frequently? Including a renewed sense of some type of spirituality?
I.E. Synchronicity, -really- far-out coincidences, strange senses that people's words or things I see are occasionally messages from "something"?

Even though I understand the concepts of self-confirmation bias and magical thinking, these keep appearing.

I think it's normal. If you're interested, Inner Traditions has many books on Psychedelics and indigenous cultures and their spiritual practices.

Been there, many times, it goes away after 6-8 months, then very little emotional flashbacks continue for another 6-8 months after, don't worry it will pass.

Questioning the significance of your trip in relation your in-the-moment experiences is pointless. Use those flashbacks as a spring board into those lofty thoughts now that you've used the LSD to open your mind. Now it's time to leave that first trip at home and meditate on your new view of the world.

There are two explanations for your coincidences. You have become hyper-aware since your experience or (I like this better) the vastness of your trip opened your mind enough to finally let the mysteries of the universe into your life for you to question them.

the acid helps you make new connections in your brain
you strengthened these connections by getting caught in the loop, like repeating a phone number over and over and over and over.
because it's in your head, you're going to make connections between it and things around you.

this is all normal in the sense that it's clear WHY you're thinking these things, but it's not likely to continue for many months or years as you'll have new epiphanies and the connections you've made that aren't useful or "true" to your life will fade away with time.

psychedelics and hallucinogens are really fun adventures on occasion just don't take them too seriously, mate :)
