I'm dating a fantastic girl who I find incredibly attractive. She has the looks and personality and is the complete package. Lately I've found myself checking out her mom a bit because I find her hot. She's in her 40's and I think her face and body shape is very sexy. I've heard it's good to be attracted to the mom because it's a good indicator as to what the daughter will look like. Is it normal?

      Distenca was 13 at the time of the video. She was indeed a cute kid and she's grown up to be a very attractive woman who's doing interesting things with her life.
      
      Rachel Hunter, the super model who played Stacy's Mom, never did much for me. She's way too lean and rangy for my taste in the video, and there's something odd about her eyes - too far apart, or something.

        I think this raises a pertinent question - is the Mom a cougar? Considering the daughter will likely become a cougar too, the OP has two options. He can forget about the daughter and fuck the Mother. He will learn a lot. Or, he can fuck the daughter for the next ten years until she goes on the prowl for a young "beef cake" kind of guy.
        
        Long term stability in either case is unlikely. What do you think? With low commitment at this point, flexibility is possible.

Vaguely normal just make sure neither your girlfriend nor her mum find out. Recently on here we had an idiot who was caught with saved bikini pictures of his girlfriend’s mum on his iPad and the girlfriend was understandably weirded out.

It's obviously perfectly normal for you to check out a woman you find attractive. It's not like being involved with the woman should flip some switch in your head which means you can ignore the reality of what you see when you look at her mother.

The gene thing is generally true, but obviously not 100% certain since the father's genes do have an effect.

A couple of big potential problems with your situation.

First, most women are pretty damn good at picking up subtle clues that a guy is interested in another woman, so you need to be super-careful not to look at the mom too long or too intently, and very cautious about what you say to the girl about her.

Second, the relationship between many mothers and their daughters can be an emotional minefield for a guy to negotiate. You can't know what sort of history there is between the two women, and it's not all that uncommon for women with attractive mothers to be at least a little afraid - consciously or unconsciously - that they might hit on any guy they get involved with. I suggest you try to aim for blandly polite and a little distant until you figure out how the emotional landscape lies.
