Is it normal to find this irritating on online comment sections?

I enjoy reading a lot of news about scientific discoveries and research, and often I encounter a bunch of commentators acting that they know better because it doesn't match their feelings. Of course, there is nothing wrong with being skeptical or continuing to follow the benefit of the doubt, but what irritates me are those people who say that the scientists/experts are bullshit simply because the results are counterintuitive. Don't get me wrong, questioning research is good, and it is true that scientists/experts are not perfect and are dead wrong from time to time, but I get irritated when I see commentators actually concluding without skepticism that they are BS simply because the answer is surprisingly counterintuitive.

Is it normal to be irritated by this?

Reminds me of an incident I had on here years back when I got in a heated discussion with someone who concluded that the world will end in 2013.

I don't mind a bit of bickering when people have different opinions but this dude just blasted my opinion out of the window using the word "fuck" in so many ways. I realised, there is no point talking with this dude, so I just ignored him.

2014... How I wished he was here now.

So basically the moral of the story, is to just ignore them.

2016 now, about to be 2017. I hope you find him and teach him a lesson in breeding!
