Is it normal to find the sound of certain words upsettingly ugly?

I'm very susceptible(?) to the sounds of words, as distinct from their meanings. Hearing an ugly word can ruin whole stretches of a day, while other sounds send me into ecstasy. To me, hearing a word with ugly sounds in it (like 'keck' or 'cloon', for example) is like smelling a fart or coming across a maggot in an apple. Can a word be intrinsically foul-sounding? Can we get rid of these words and drop them from our language? Is this normal?

It's realty funny you mention this because I was having the same thoughts earlier today and no one to tell them too. It's also like if you say a word over and over it just sound utterly stupid and you wonder how someone could have thought of that word and what made them decide on the meaning.

I don't know if we can get rid of them, but I know what you mean. :-) Sometimes you can look at a word or spell a name and it just looks awful.
