Is it normal to find the bmi inaccurate?

a few months ago i saw my belly started to go quite flabby so i started working out, a few days ago i noticed quite an improvement but when i stepped on the scale i was about 10pounds heavier. I looked at my score on the bmi chart and i ranked as obese, even though i'm really muscular. I use the Biggly Body Index made for muscular people since its a more accurate guideline for me. I wanted to make sure i'm not the only one who does this.

If you guys could maybe comment both your bbi and bmi scores here it'd be appreciated :)

The more muscle you gain the more inaccurate the BMI is. There's actually a device that measures your body fat percentage. I'm sure the doctor or local gym has one if you are really curious.

Yea, BMI doesnt take into account muscle mass, it just assumes your a flabby sack of shit. Use some callipers if you really want to measure body fat percentage, thats more imporant. But I find just looking in the mirror is good enough, don't obsess with weight because it will go up and down as you lose fat and gain muscles

Yh...muscle is heavier than fat. My bmi is 16 (so underweight) but I'm not toned, if I were, my bmi would be higher. Its messed up system :/

the military stopped using bmi because it doesn't take account the muscle mass in some individuals and i think the same way. I look mine up because muscle mass isn't a problem for me but i understand how it would be inaccurate.
