Is it normal to find flaws in everyone?

I love people so so much, yet I still manage to find flaws in literally everyone. It's damaging to my relationships. I do realise that everyone has flaws - boy do I - but I still feel so hateful. I even find the smallest flaws in the people closest to me. I seem to both absolutely love people and absolutely hate people at the same time.

Of course it's normal. Everyone has flaws; of course you're going to find some in every person you meet. No one's perfect.

Well, I do share your apt but confusing love/hate thing for people. I think I...love people in theory, like an immense amount, but hate them as soon as they're in front of me.

It's okay that you find flaws in everyone - I think everyone does the same. But it depends on what you do with that.

If you cut everyone off for it - then yeah, it's a problem. But if you don't, then there's no problem with noticing something.

Flaws are viewed. Only the mind creates them. That being said though, it's totally normal to have those feelings. As long as you're not hurting anyone, you shouldn't be so hard on yourself. Maybe it's not such a bad thing to see flaws all the time. When you accept it, it will be easier to make the thoughts go away if you wish it so.

But everyone who loves, loves despite the flaws. Sure, people have flaws. It is what endears us to our loved ones.

There is nothing more boring than perfection. Smell the nasty air, watch the nasty people, think of nasty governments, asshole power brokers, disease and urban decay. Smile, knowing that nastiness is an art form. Now you are accepting the real world.

If being perfect was boring, then being perfect would be imperfect, which is a contradiction.

So what you're talking about isn't perfection at all.

The implication of your statement is that imperfection is boring, and perfection is not. Most people would say that BOTH are boring. This question would make a good poll for IIN.

          No, that's not my implication.

I'm stating that flawlessness cannot be a flaw, by definition.

You saying perfection is boring, is essentially saying perfection is imperfect. Seems like a contradiction to me :/

I agree that flawlessness can not have a flaw. I am talking about the perception of flawlessness. Some people perceive flawlessness as divine bliss inspiring awe. Other people say "So what?". Different people place subjective perceptions and values on flawless things differently. You and I are no exception.

In a sense, humanity has turned all of Planet Earth into a bit of a garbage dump. Except, things are probably still reasonably pristine down around the possum farm.

That's because we're human, if I ever found a perfect human being I think I'd find them a little unsettling, sometimes flaws can make someone more desirable, sometimes little quirks make you appreciate someone that little bit more

  • The biggest flaw is perfection.
