Is it normal to find fat people unattractive?

I don't think fat people are 100%% ugly, per se, but I don't find them attractive. I check out others a lot, in a non-sexual way, I can't help it, it's just something I notice and look for. Sometimes I see a chubbier person who really does look good. However, I think actual obese people are just ugly and horrendous. Though rest assured I don't show it, I'm generally even respectful and nice, except with horrible people whom I avoid.

I feel kind of guilty about this, though I suspect it's at least partially socially imposed. Don't get me wrong, I'm not biased against them as people, I'm biased against their looks. I just don't... I don't know, maybe this is a silly guilty feeling. I know people who dislike fat people on principle, since they feel it's 97%% laziness. I like to think fatness is due to being addicted to food/eating :(

PS: I'm not American. My country is generally pretty fit, especially compared to everyday photos of Americans I've seen.

When I saw the title for this story I was amazed you would even ask that. People would ask the opposite of that. Like "Is being attracted to fat people normal?".
You are normal. A lot of people think fat people are unatractive just because of the gross lumps that stick out, or the double chins, the smell sometimes & the sweating. Or many other reason I might be forgeting. It's not all laziness & food. Sometimes it's just the person & his/hers metabolism. Some people can't help it at all. I personaly don't dislike fats, I can go "ewww gross" (in my mind) if I really think one needs to get up from their fat ass & workout, but I respect them for who they are. And everyone should. Don't make fun of them if they are a bit chubby... or a lot chubby. It hurts them & life isn't meant to waste making fun of other people. Peace!

I don't find morbidly obese people attractive either, it's not something I ever tried to scout out in a potential lover, LoL.

Now here's a doozy for ya though, I'm a little chunky, yet am entirely grossed out at even the fact of being with someone who has a similar weight to height porportion as myself, maybe I'm a "me" hater, but anyone around my build of the opposite sex or bigger is absolutely ghastly, I guess I'm a hypocrite, look as I say, not as I eat..LoL.

i think for the most part fat people are ugly and pretty gross.

a lot of them are awesome people, and i would never treat someone differently because of it; but come on, they arent really taking care of their bodies. if they want to eat junk food, they should at least work out.

also for the most part, its not the overweight people, but the obese ones who are just absolutely disgusting. im sorry, but there is no excuse for being that big. theres so much stuff you could do to take care of that problem.

Where are you fat?? Got a fat drug problem? Got a "fat" judgemental attitude? All people have problems and defects but not everyone shows theirs. Don't judge unless you want to be judged

I think most fat people are revolting but you occasionally get the good looking one that actually suits being a bit chubby. But I don't judge whats on the outside.

Seriously, fat people are sexually repulsive for the most part. And it usually shows a complete lack of respect for themselves as human beings. Unless you actually have a condition that makes it harder to lose weight, then shame on you for eating your feelings and allowing yourselves to become addicted to food. There is enough information out there on the 'net to fill a million books on how to eat healthier and lose weight. If you want to be a clearer channel for the divine or whatever you may call it, clean up your own body. Go on a juice fEast, which means drinking 1 gallon of fresh squeezed juices every day. Mostly green and fruit combinations for 30 days will allow you to shed a ton of weight and you'll look better too. Your skin will clear up, your body will work more efficiently, and you'll probably lose 30 lbs. in the first 30 days if you are overweight. There are so many ways to lose weight, and a raw foods diet is also another great way to lose weight fast and eat as much as you want as long as it is raw. Go to JuiceFeasting.com or StevePavlina.com and search raw foods diet and you'll see the abundance of food you can eat and lose weight. Also, make sure you exercise as well.

Professional athletes eat more than obese people. Some eat 10-12 thousand calories a day during intense training. There are conditions, such as hypothyroidism which cause people, like my aunt for example, to be very overweight despite eating much less than someone at a normal weight. You're entitled to your opinion about how overweight people look, but please don't continue your ignorance about the roots of obesity.

Yes, some people ARE addicted food, but the majority of obese people have other underlying causes. It's a legitimate disease just like any other. It's a struggle for their health, especially when food is also their comfort. Blaming obese people for their obesity, or shaming them for it, is only going to make them eat more out of guilt and hate themselves even more.

As for food addicts, they deserve your sympathy too, just as any addict does. It's good of you not to openly judge these people, but try to feel sympathy for them instead of disgust. The obesity epidemic is not entirely due to personal choices on the part of the obese, but due to societal pressures, food manufacturers, and progress (the superavailability of overly palatable food and increasingly sedentary working environments).

Be thankful that you're one of those naturally skinny people who don't have to struggle with food, but don't assume any overweight person is greedy or even eats more than you, chances are, they don't.

Becoming conscious, or "waking up" means taking 100% responsibility for your results in life. Blaming the food industry, social pressures, and saying that because processed food is cheaper is not a valid excuse. If you truly wanted to, you could eat healthfully for the same cost as eating a terrible, chemical-laden diet. I'm not talking to "you" specifically, but the whole world as a whole. I lost 55 lbs. in less than 6 months walking 10 miles a day and eating only non-processed food and have not gained any of it back. I am at a BMI of around 22 and took responsibility for the situation I was in even though I can't exercise vigorously due to brain cancer I had years ago. I walked at a moderate pace for 6 months and lost 55 lbs. while making sure to eat only REAL FOOD and to stand 95% of the time that I am awake. Walking and standing all day will ramp up your metabolism and allow you to function more efficiently. For anyone who says they cannot lose weight, I say do some research and put in the effort and time that is required to lose the weight you want to lose. It could take 6 months, a year, two years. But seriously putting in the effort in a sustained manner will almost always result in amazing transformations.

I'm a straight guy who ONLY finds thin women sexually attractive. There are so many people who think I'm a shallow prick, who can't see past a person's exterior - Yet, I have some fat friends. Why is it "shallow" to state a simple fact, that big women just don't give me an erection? I can't help it!

It is normal to hate fat people. They don't deserve any respect or love

Insensitive prick. What's your stance on fat people who are fat due to, say, a glandular condition?
