Is it normal to fight like this?

When me and my boyfriend fight it gets really bad. I usually cry and scream at him while he screams at me and breaks things. He has never hit me but looks like he wants to sometimes. He punches walls and throws objects at the wall aswell. The fight usually gets resolved when I pack my things up (we live together) and go to leave. This happens maybe 3 or 5 times a month. We have been living together for 10 months and been in a relationship for a year and a half. I know every relationship has fights.. But, is it normal to fight to this degree?

Bad situation!! Either get counseling if you both want to save the relationship, or END IT!

It's normal if you want to be on the Jeremy Kyle show in the not-so-distant future.

NO! Get out of that situation or you are going to end up getting hit! There is no excuse for a man to lose his temper like that towards a woman like that EVER!

I agree with the captain. He's all ready hitting things it's just a matter of time before it's you he hits. You both might think it will never go that far but in a heated moment like that the things a person is capable of could surprise both of you.

It will happen, either in months or years. I have had too many friends get hit by guys because they thought he would never cross "that line". Hell I have been in a number of fights with guys that hit my friends, I don't and will never tolerate a man that hits a woman.

No. Either go to couples therapy/anger management or end the relationship.

  • He's angry. He either has a bad anger problem, or you're giving him good reasons to get that angry.
He isn't hitting you, which is good. He may want to, but wanting and doing are two different things.

You can't just say you're packing up and leaving in these arguments, that solvs nothing, it just puts the argument on hold until next time. One day he'll get fed up and let you leave, where as if you solve the problem properly, it won't come to that.
