Is it normal to feel your dreams are your reality?

Hi,

Just recently, i've been having very vivid, abstract dreams, which seem to be very real, as i guess you'd of experianced one point in your life. I could guess before that my dreams were my dreams, and i was dreaming, but now, it just feels so real, that it feels like another part of my waking self, and i sort of LIKE my dream life more than my life at the moment. Is that normal? I wake up, dissapointed sometimes, that i can't go back in and 'live' there. I mean, i'm being treated for depression, and in the process of receiving medication, but please don't think that has anything to do with it. It's more me, liking my dream-like life, more than my waking one at the moment.

Never stop dreaming, the moment you stop a part of you will die.

I love dreams so that's why I like to call them my sleeping life and my awake life, never mix them.

My sleeping life is awesome it's like my own action, horror, funny movie, but that is for the fun of my sleeping self.

Yeah life sucks big time, and I really get why you get depressed but don't, cuz if you aren't you can enjoy more of your both lives :)

I think it's pretty normal & I completely agree with you, there have been times my dreams have been so awesome, I cursed waking up.

REM sleep (dream phase) is actually really peculiar in the way that neurons behave as if you are awake. This is why you think dreams are real. Other parts of your nervous system are inactive though, that explains feeling paralyzed when you can't get out of a nightmare.

I like to think that my dreams are my own little reality.

Added to my Lucid Dream comment, once you know how to have them, (and it takes a while to have full dreams like this) you can do anything you want and things are almost more lifelike than real life. You can stay in a single dream for 50 years if you choose to make it that long, even though you were only dreaming for 3 hours. You can make anything happen, you can do anything you want. Some athletes practice their sport in lucid dreams. You can use them to help you study, or anything like that. The possibilities are endless. Just Google it! As long as you aren't upset that it was just a dream when you wake up, You'll love it.

Lucid dreams! Feel like real cuz of the position of your eye! Idk if you knew this but when you sleep your eye is kinda rotating and makes a full circle, so when your eye is exactly at the point where it is in the middle but kinda looking at the back in your head your dreams feel like real!

I think that you would benifit from Lucid dreaming. This kind of dream is where you can control what happens in your dream completely if you want. I urge you to Google it. Just remember to keep your waking life and dream life seperate. We don't want you going crazy!
Dreams are one of the most amazing things about humans, I think.
