Is it normal to feel weird if you leave a store empty-handed?

After seeing a rage comic about this subject, I realized: Holy crap, that is so ME! Sometimes, well, usually, I will go into a store and find absolutely nothing to buy. I HATE having nothing to buy, because when I leave the store without purchasing anything, I feel illogically guilty lol. I basically walk out with my pockets out and my hands spread open..you know, so nobody will think I've stolen anything! If I've got a dollar or something, I will end up buying some gum or something completely useless so that I actually have purchased something at the store. But otherwise, I have to leave empty-handed...I've got nothing to hide, but still, I don't want to look all suspicious. :-P
Am I just paranoid or what?

    It's no big deal. You are free to walk around any store without buying anything. If you feel guilty, then you will look guilty. I wouldn't even bother buying gum. Just walk out normally, you have nothing to hide!

    If a store does'nt have what I want/need,usually I'm more pissed off at going there to begin with then feeling guilty.It's their fault-not yours for not having the shit you want,so FUCK them.

    No. I often go in just to look and often leave with nothing if they don't have what I want.
