Is it normal to feel upset because my boyfriend is texting as much?

Up until a few weeks ago i was getting all kinds of cute texts from a guy i have been seeing for a few months. Now when i text good morning i have to be the one to do it first and if i text him something about thinking about him i get no response other than a winking emoji. I am so confused. When we are together things are great and he tells everyone we meet i am his girlfriend and even calls me babe or sunshine but when we text it has become not so exciting. What upsets me the most with texting him is if i see that he is on fb messenger and i have texted him good night about the sane time and i get no response back from him.. My last boyfriend cheated on me through fb messenger and so it makes it hard for me to trust that he isnt. Am i making more out of this than it is worth?
