Is it normal to feel this way towards life?

Even though not everyone has a bad life and there's not too many stressful things in their life, I believe that escapism (via dreams, games, TV, etc) exist because everyone's life actually sucks. I mean, sure you have the years of being a child and having no concerns, but then you grow up and the only thing you have to look forward to is getting a job, working for 20+ years at said job, pay endless taxes and bills, possibly get married, possibly have children and way down the road, finding a decent elder's home. You're lucky if you can travel the world or do it atleast once to only a single location (considering how little vacation time one gets and how rediculously expensive everything is).

With all this is mind, that's why life sucks and why people perfer games and other ways of Escapism better than life itself (including me). Depressing, but it's the truth.

Yea duh. The native Americans were the only ones that actually lived the right way. And us Americans took over their land. Greed, and government are why our world is so fucked up. I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks like this. Fuck the system!

You have a kind heart because u feel bad for the things that have happened in your country. I also feel bad for the aboriginals here is Australia very similar. I can't even believe how horrible history can be.

Once you hit a certain age there really isn't that much more to life but waiting around to die. My opinion.

What is normal? Someone else's opinion? Your experience? My experience? I think if people are trying to escape maybe they are just stuck. Unable to find passion for anything life offers. If you study the lives of those truly happy they stick to what they are good at. Some people enjoy a sport they get involved in it they meet people in it and soon their life revolves around it. Some people their children, others their animals. Other people dabble in a bit of this and a bit of that never succeeding in anything. Side note death is scary. For me it is god I am surrounded by good people and it keeps me busy. I think what your feeling may be because you have possibly lost someone recently? That's how I felt when my mum died.
