Is it normal to feel this way for so long?

I'm 18 years old and I have been dating with my ex for almost two years.I really loved him but he cheated on me and I chose to break up with him. It's already been a year after our break up,he is getting married and I'm just staying single. The worst thing is that I can't fall in love with someone or like someone, just because it reminds me of him and how we used to be together. Every time I see someone kissing or hugging I start crying right away.I don't know how to move on from this...I feel I will be forever in this situation, living in future and past at the same time...what do you think?

Time heals everything. For fuck sakes, get a grip on yourself. I will fuck you if I have to in order to straighten out your life.

  • You'll get through it, trust me.

  • You are very young still. You WILL experience those things again one day with someone else - I promise you.

If you're not ready to date yet, then focus on friends and family for a while: anything to take your mind off of him. And get rid of any memorabilia that you have lying around; box it up and either store it or trash it.

I think EVERYBODY goes through this...young love. It is very cliche but true...time heals all wounds. It takes people different amounts of time to get over broken relationships, but just know that you WILL. Try to keep yourself busy w/ friends & family. Maybe get a new hobby...anything to keep your mind distracted. I promise that one day these feelings you're having will seem to be a distant memory. Good Luck!
