Is it normal to feel this way after a car crash

I just got my drivers license two months ago and I was driving since. Every day I drove I gained more skill and my confidence level was through the roof. Well that was until a few days ago around 10:30 pm, I crashed into a curb and pole and totaled my car, I however, had no injuries. What bothers the most is that I don't remember how it happened or what caused it to happen. All I know is that in a matter of seconds I hit the curb and pole of the lane next to mine. I know being a new driver it is kind of expected of me to be in an accident once or twice, however, I am really scared of driving again for fear of getting into another accident and disappointing not only myself but parents. I would appreciate any thoughts you all might have.

Hey, I'm nineteen now. I got my permit when i was fifteen, and my drivers license when i was seventeen.
November, on the Sunday after thanksgiving. I drove back to collage from home. There was a lot of traffic and suddenly all the cars started slowing down because of a wreck faaaaar ahead. So I, of course, put on the brakes. Instantly I realize my brakes aren't like they used to be anymore, because the car wasn't stopping as quickly as it usually would. I didn't want to ram into the truck ahead of me so I quickly decided to drive in the grass to slow me down. The grass was slick and it threw me into the guardrail where I'm told my car spun around a bit. It also caught on fire, a little bit.

After this Incedent I was/am terrified of driving. I've only driven twice since then. One when my father came to take that car to fix it and give me his car to drive back to collage. And a second time just last monday to school so I could pick up my schedual.
The school is a very short drive(less than half a mile) from where I'm staying so for now, I was thinking that driving those short distances to school might help me, if only a bit.

Even if you're scared(Like I was/am), I think It'll help if you start driving short distances. Believe in yourself, and be courageous.

It's natural to be scared of driving after a car accident, especially if you're new. While driving, make sure you pay extra close attention to everything. Make sure your car mirrors are in the right places etc. Good Luck Driving!

Everyone would be afraid to drive if they stepped back and looked at what it is, traveling in a metal box going at 80 mph amongst other metal boxes, i dont feel right saying this but either dont think about it or dont drive, i always find that when you think you are gonna fuck up, you will. As for not knowing what happened, people rarely do know what happens before an accident, otherwise there wouldnt be any
