Is it normal to feel the urge of running away from home?

Whenever my dad screams at me or insults me..the first and single thought that is going through my mind consists in running away from home, actually,I'm planning to run 28km to my friend that lives in a different city and sleep at his house because his parents allow that...just to forget about the daily stress that I have in my family.

running away from your problems is very normal.

as advice you shouldn't run away from your problems in life. they wont go away unless you deal with them head on.

for example; your father yells at you it causes you stress.

have you ever thought about telling him this, and that he doesn't need to yell at you to get the point across. You will understand just the same in any tone he uses. make sure to let him know that when he does yell at you it causes you to fell the need to get as far away as possible from him. and even run to other citys just to feel safe again.

note if you do not say this in a calm voice and tone we will just most likely yell at you for being arrogant. when debating tough things sarcastic responses is not your friend .........or just have him read your post + mine.... if you cant say it to him directly

I tried this with my Mum. It never worked, she just got more mad. You can't reason with them. ever.

When I was 9, I thought like that too. I packed a traveling case and told my dad I'm leaving, he laughed and just nodded because he thought I won't. I hid behind the kitchen counter and left the door open, so after about 10 minutes; he was looking for me. He really thought I ran away, he called everyone in my house to look for me in the areas near our house, LOL. My dad was still in the kitchen looking for me inside the house, I showed up behind him and told him the whole story.

I still think of running away and not telling him though, I hate him a lot now that I know his true nature. It'd be better if he didn't smoke often.

I actually went and planned out places for me to stay. I had a similar problem going on at home. Even now I think about running away, just picking up and leaving where no one will know where I am and just start again.
