Is it normal to feel that your house has a soul?

Our house had different moods and feelings for each day. We have had people that have visited our house and have mentioned this feeling with no mention of it from us. My friends don't like to go down the stairs by themselves when the lights are out because they can feel someone watching them from either end of the stairway. My sister's friends didn't want to leave her alone one night because the house had one of those moments when the paranormal energy is built up and concentrated like it was being supressed before and now it's leaking through the seams. My room has moods, more so than the rest of the house. It feels angry when I'm going to sleep, and sad at 5 o'clock in the afternoon, and happy at 9 o'clock in the morning. But like a teenager it's moods change so often that those are the only reoccuerences that I can detect. I can't ever sleep when it's quiet without music or anything else. Our 'spirit' we call it Lupin, he likes to slam doors and things. I've considered many times that it could be paranoia, but it occurs to all who enter our house. Even our parents. My sister and I grew up with paranormal vibes and are used to it by now, but it is still kinda...wierd. I am curious if anybody else has a house with moods and wtching eyes, slamming doors and evil clocks that randomly go backward (that tramitized me as I watched it tick counter-clockwise on a clock straight from the box.) Is this normal?

I'd agree with the poster above that there's a spirit in the house, due to the fact that others who you haven't told have sensed it too.

It's my personal belief that these kinds of spirits aren't benevolent, or lost souls, and I'd recommend getting someone to pray over or bless the house.

Whatever you believe, I think it's normal to think there's spirits there, and agree with you.

Oh my god. It's not the house, you clearly have a bloody ghost in it.

I've grown up in a house with this same occurrence and seen many many different things, hell I feel the damn thing looking over my shoulder right now.

I think that would only work if OP is actually a genuine follower/ believer of Jesus Christ.

when i die, im gunna posess every car ive ever owned (if theyre still around) lol i get the idea some people are saying about energy, if something bad happened in a certain place you can kinda sense it not all spirits are out to scare or harm you though many are just lost souls. i believe animals have a stronger sense than we have, for example years and years ago in our old house before we moved in somebody died in one of the bedrooms (suicide) and our car would not go near that room i even picked him up once to take him in there and he scratched and clawed me and ran off lol

you dont feel soul friend, you feel the history! the longer a house stands the it gains more of its own personality, thats not weird at all in my opinion.

    This is kind of creepy.
My house does not do that.
    Maybe .. well, I dunno.
I am sure you will get used to it. I just hope it still doesnt happen when you get your own place.

In some ways this is normal, in others it is not. Seeing spirits and strange phenomena actually run in my family as well. However, your house is probably possessed. Sometimes a possession is not always a bad thing, as many spirits provide the family with protection.

One instance that I know of personally is with my brother. His best friend has had a spirit which has lived in his house for several years. Originally it would slam doors and fling objects at people unexpectedly. Now, his friend deals with some strange things as it is, and was able to sort out a way to trap the thing in one of the closets (he used some sort of incantation from a book). Apparently at night you can still hear the spirit playing with the things in his closet at night.

Sometimes you should be a little bit worried due to the fact that many spirits will become enraged over time. Many people believe that a spirit is a person who was not able to fully pass to the afterlife due to something traumatic happening to them before death. Until the person experiencing the haunting does as the spirit wishes it may become more angry over time.

Over all, I would say be careful but you shouldn't have much to worry about at the current time as this particular spirit seems to be in an alright state for the current time.

I do not think it is weird. The "moods" that you feel in the house could be the EMF that the entity emits while in the house (the lack of or excess energy in a certain area).

There is also the theory that energy from the past (and other families that lived in the house) could stay behind and encompass the household. For instance, perhaps the person that used to live in your room went to sleep angry because of a recent divorce, but were a morning person come dawn, and spent the afternoons going through finances.

I can suggest something that you may or may not agree with, but this has helped me get rid of a terrible bundle of negative energy that had built up over months of paranoia and nightmarish thoughts from my mother in the next room (thanks, mom). It started coming into my room at night and would "connect" with me in my sleep by sucking out my energy. I knew this because I would have nightmares that related to my mother's daily thoughts (she has OCD). I conducted a room cleansing ritual where I sprinkled garlic, cinnamon, pepper and sea salt all around my room while burning sage leaves. Then I hung a broom and bay leafs over my door. I asked the goddess Brigit to help me cleanse my room and fight away the negative energy.

Now my room feels "clear" ...and all the animals keep trying to come in, hahaha. :)
