Is it normal to feel that you don't belong in the family?

i am the second of three children in my family. i feel that my parents love my older sibling more because he is more mature and smart and he is just a good person. they also love my youngest sibling because she is the "baby" in the family. i feel like everything is always blamed on me, and they just doesn't love me as much as they love them.

i'm the middle child also, and i think the same things every single day. i also feel like they love me less because im the black sheep of the family. everyone else likes R&B while i like rock, for example.
but hey, maybe it might help if you tell your parents the way that you feel?

  • This is a very typical "middle-child" feeling, I too am a middle child and know where you're coming from. It definitely seems like we get less attention- and hey maybe we do, but I'm positive they love you the same as your siblings.
