Is it normal to feel sorry for the cells in your body?

When I eat something unhealthy, like something that raises my blood sugar a lot, I feel sorry for all the cells inside me that have to work so hard to get the sugar out of my blood in order for me to survive. And when I hurt myself, I feel sorry for my cells working so hard to stop the bleeding. I feel like that I, the mind that's thinking right now, am not worth as much as my cells (yes, I would be nothing without my cells, but I just think like that anyway).
The whole thing about my body maintaining homeostasis in order for ME to survive makes me feel selfish.

You have no reason to feel bad. Your cells have no brains; they have no feelings. They exist only for your survival.

Or we only exist for THEIR selfish desire to replicate.

Your cells crave that sugar. They want the raw energy it can provide. You are a slave to your cells. Even as they die off, new ones replace them. The goal-- to be you, to dominate you!

Lol, I used to feel sorry for viruses because i thought they are working hard to live too, as a kid I had warts all over my feet I tried to kill them but they just kept growing back & so I let them stay because they had such a will to live, the weren't really bothering me anyway it hurt worse trying to get rid of them.
