She can't help her feelings. He had a crush on her since childhood, she never got a chance to know him. She was trying to survive you can't blame her. It's a game and they were partners working together to survive so she didn't realize how much he cared about her. Not everyone falls in love at first sight. That's probably a foreign concept to her. Considering the circumstances she only ever thought about making it another day and feeding her family. I think she puts up a wall as well. She doesn't even want a relationship because she doesn't want to have children and bring them into that world.

Peeta's upbringing was a little different..though I'm not going to say because I don't know if they mention that in the first book or not. XD

I read them all btw! :)

I LOVE Peeta... and I felt the same. I wished I could have him if Katniss didnt want him haha. Read the rest of the books. They are amazing.

It's normal. Authors have to make books that provoke strong feelings in us, The readers. Otherwise, it wouldn't really be a good book, would it? A good book must also be relatable to the readers. Look at Harry Potter. That series is considered to be one of the greatest book series of all time. Not only is the story well written, but it is also thought provoking and relatable.

A good book is supposed to make you feel that way. It's normal.
