Is it normal to feel sick and awkward after taking celexa?

I have never been on any kind of medications other then OTC. I recently went to the doctor for anxiety. Well he claims I'm depressed along with ADHD and anxiety. So I was prescribed Celexa. I honestly do not think I need a depression pill. But figure what the heck, who knows maybe I do. Today was my first time taking it. I have felt extremely sick to my stomach and really strange. I'm aware that it takes a bit of getting use to and I need to give it time. But if I have to deal with feeling like this I will rather deal with my anxiety and forgetfulness. Anyone have experience with this kind of thing? Thanks.

I took it for a while and though I didn't feel sick, I didn't feel like myself. I was shakey and jittery.

I just took it last night for the first time. 10 mg. I woke up at 4am and i felt jittery and just sick. I felt weird. The only thing i can explain the way it made me feel is it made me feel like a deformed murderer. In other words like a monster. I will not be taking it again.

Dam i wish i knew i docter like that, Iv put on a big show for many docters to try and convince them that i need medication but they wont prescribe anything, they just push me onto someone else in the medical field. but hopefully the psychiatrist will be more agreeable.

I'd probably stop taking it. Go back to your doctor and get switched to something else. There are lots of other options. I was on celexa and had too many side effects so I switched to something else and had no problems with it.

i've been taking celexa for a year now. it never made me sick, but i think it's had some reverse effects before..like i've felt depressed again for no reason. but i haven't had that much lately. maybe you should go back to your doctor. he may increase the dosage, or prescribe you a new medication.

It's day two and I feel like someone beat me up last night. Everything hurts. My face my body my head. 'm staring at the pill seriously wondering if feeling like crap for a few weeks is worth it.

I have never had this experience but i remember my doctor warning me when I started antidepressants that it might happen and that my body would eventually adjust. You should talk to your doc about it.

I have taken celexa for my anxiety for over 3 years now and I have never once felt sick to my stomach after taking it. Although, I do take it after eating food.. if your taking it in the morning try to eat something before ingesting the medicine.
