When ever I see a toy car or something like that I get really sad to see it thrown away or in the trash can. To me it seems like such a happy thing meets such a destructive end. Anyone else feel the same way?
It's possible that the discarded toys could be a metaphor for innocence lost.
I think of the same things when I see something I once really enjoyed being tossed like its rubbish. Makes me sad.

Sad because you remember all the fun you've had with it! I remember I would never let go of my toys because they held memories even if I just left it in my toy bin the whole time! Then, I figured that I'll give it to my younger cousin who only lives 2 mins 11 secs away, so whenever I see her, I see my memories!
I can relate to this. For me it's because certain things seem alive. I have felt very attached to objects to the point where they come to life.
A discarded toy is a bit like a human being perhaps. If it's a doll or something, it starts out fresh and new and has a happy face. Time will wear out its eyes but a smile may still remain as it is tossed aside in old age.
Since I was a child seeing toys being damaged or treated badly has made me sad. Normal to me.
