Is it normal to feel paranoid?

So I met this guy that I really like and he likes me a lot back. He's nice, funny, smells good, has a nice smile and is just cool overall. Unfortunately, he's about 2 years younger than me. I don't usually date down, but I really like him. The real problem is that I'm not sure what my friends and family will think about me dating a younger guy. Is it normal that I'm paranoid that they are thinking the worst things, or should I just assume that they don't care?
