Is it normal to feel "out of reality" sometimes ?

Have you ever feel like you are completely aside of life ? Like looking at everything around you and not feeling that you are belonging to the environment ? As if you are disconnected from reality ? This happens to me all the time lately, and I can't concentrate on my study and homeworks !! I don't know what triggers this and I don't know if it is normal...! This post may sounds weird, but I don't quite know how to express this state of mind. I mean this may happen when you are very very tired... but does it also happen to you when you are perfectly relaxed and rested ?

Going on what you described, it might be depersonalization. I often get it too, if it really prevents you from doing things you normally it could be a disorder; in which case I recommend a shrink.

Yes. This happens to me often. I'd like to know what it is too. Maybe it's not as complex, and it's just a sense of not belonging. But I wouldn't let it get to you too much. You shouldn't stop your studies and homework because you feel like you don't belong.

I always feel this way under the influence of nitrous oxide. I happen to think its pleasant.

I had out of body experiences when I was in severe sleep deficit. The kind that patients report when they're under anaesthetic. It was kind of enjoyable in a strange way.

But when not chronically tired, yeah, I often feel a weird disconnect but I think this is because I don't eat often enough (I sometimes go a couple of days and forget to eat) and I'm just feeling faint.

I feel like that all the time too. I don't know if it's normal or not, but I've certainly became used to it. Personally I don't feel like that I don't belong or anything, but more like I'm sort of living in a dream. I wouldn't worry about it, focus on what you need to focus on, it's likely it's all just a mental delusion.

look up Derealization on wiki, it has a great explanation... when i experience this, everything seems fake or blurry. It's very hard to describe and everyone tends to describe it differently. You might also like to look up Depersonalization which is more of an 'out of body' experience.
