I remember feeling like that when I turned 20, dropping the "teen" in my age number.
It's best not to think of your life as a linear map towards impending old age and death. Live in the moment - you can be young forever, really. If you want to be. At some point you realize there's kind of something nice about being older. Memories and wisdom and precious things.
I feel the same and I'm 18 at the moment. I started feeling this way because I was just disappointed with certain aspects of my life... I'm good at sports and being social, but what I want is good school marks and could never achieve what I wanted. I stayed average.
My parents don't support me playing sport and although they want me to do well academically, they just dont support that as well. I'm now dealing with depression coz I feel like my life is over. Hence feeling old...
Don't worry about it too much. I went though that at about the same age. Then I went to university and it felt like a new start and I got over it.
There's no point in being all negative about getting older. You'll age anyway, everyone does, and you can't change that. The only thing you can change is your attitude towards it.
i started to feel old on my 14th birthday. just keep in mind, "but, i'm NOT old" i've managed 11 more years.
I no wat u mean. Im 18 and i so dread 19. I want to be a teenager forever.
UGH I AM IN THE EXACT SAME SITUATION!! I'm turning 17 in a few weeks and I feel the exact same; like I'll just suddenly have to grow up or something. Time is going by way to fast for my liking :(
IMO you don't have to mature until you're in your late 20's. Or well, you have to have som maturity I guess, but you don't have to grow up completely.
OMG! I totally know how you feel! Sadly, I felt old at 12, when I was about to turn 13. I am now 27, and I feel ancient. I hate getting older!!! :(
