Is it normal to feel like your girlfriend tries to make you insecure

I don't know. I've been talking to this girl, and it just seem like she's made me more confident while making me more insecure. She's a bit egotistical and conceited, which can be a turn off. She brags about how people with her sign are more hard workers or more special than others that aren't of that sign. I want to get into the entertainment biz, and she encourages me to do it. But she makes it seem as if she has a better chance because of her being a certain sign, and other celebs having that sign too. She just seem like she does little things to always try to prove that she's better than someone, or as if her shit doesn't stink. Even when she's caught doing wrong, she tries to make me feel worst, as if I'm capable of doing worst.
