Is it normal to feel like your being judge for how you look and speak?

I think outer appearance has a major/minor importance on how successful you are depending on your occupation.

In the human mind looks are related to status and competence. It's a proven statistic that attractive people get paid more than unattractive.

its normal northerners don't make fun of southern folks its that northerners like the way you southern folks talk i got a southern friend and i pissed him off he says yens and i told him well up here we would say you-guys instead of yens or yall and when he got mad he said stupid mofucker and they say the word ass different they put more a on the word

I hate the fact that the way you dress is important. Dressing professionally is an exception for work or an event. But I mean outside of those things. Appearance is just a part of why your so successful. I'm sure most of it is your intelligence.

Of course appearance matters. Humans are a HIGHLY visual species, it is why polls find blindness one of the most dreaded handicaps. Just ask someone if they would rather be blind of deaf. A person's appearance speaks volumes about them, how healthy they are, how well they take care of themselves, socio economic status, etc. That's why they have interviews instead of just picking the best resume.

Well I am from Texas and I have heard that I "sound" white numerous times and was told because of this I am able to get better jobs then the rest of my friends.

Yes appearance plays a role in life. If you look like someone who can do the assigned task then people will probably hire you regardless of how little you know of the subject. Sorry that people judge you on your looks though.
