Is it normal to feel like you've phased out of reality?

It's... Difficult to put it any other way. Every now and then, specifically on stressful days, I sort of lose a feeling of reality. Not like "None of this is real", so much as when you get really immersed in a game and then remember it's a game. It sorta messes with the reality you've built up in your head, if you know what I mean. Just like a general feeling of disconnect from the world around me. It's not like it's so common it's causing a problem, not to say that it's something that would cause a problem to begin with per say... More than anything I'm just confused and would like an answer as to what's going on.

  • Sounds like derealization. If so it's fairly common. There are many things that can cause it and is probably nothing to be concerned about unless it's bothering you. I feel like that all the time and like it. My brain is my drugs.

I took a college course in psychology and it sounds like disassociating. It is the term for feeling or having an out of body experience, more or less. It may not be that intense but the general feeling that it's not real and that you are not in control of yourself, it is common and is frequent when in a tragic event like someone died close to you or you finally accomplished something you dreamed of as a kid. It's a coping mechanism to deal with a large amount of stress on the brain in order to keep functioning.

You must have some really good drugs; care to share?

Umm, cant say that ive felt that way before. But sometimes I get the feeling my timeline has shifted in the multiverse. That something insignificant in the past or future has changed for only my timeline. And in all the infinite existences that I exist in, my current existence is the only one that notices that something is off.

Thats what I think dreams are meant for. To properly ground you to this current timeline your on. But for some people that part of their mind is slightly flawed. So sometimes upon awakening I think, I wonder what changed today?

You shared your craziness, thought id share mine.

We are currently exploring our consciousness and experiencing some pretty cool things.
It is easy to incorrectly assign psychological definitions to non-physical or spiritual experiences. You seem to have a good connection with your greater self and a free flowing consciousness. Play with it and see where you can go with it.
There is a lot of interesting reading out there. Please note that spiritual to us does not equate to religion.
Until you are confident and secure in what you discover and believe, be selective who you share this with. Many will think you are crazy because they refuse to entertain the idea there is so much more to us than just our physical selves.
