Is it normal to feel like this on birth control?? help!

I'm 21 and started Beyaz BCP a month ago. Today I start my placebo pills which are only 4 pills. I have been very emotional ever since I started talking birth control. I heard this is normal but is it normal that I want to cry all the time and everything bothers me to the max!? It's kinda affecting my relationship with my boyfriend but that's the least of my worries because he knows I'm taking the pill and he knows the effects, but we didn't know it was going to be so drastic!!! When will the mood swings end? Will I stay so moody or will this pass as I get accustomed to the pill???

Also I know because it is my first time ever taking birth control and its my first month my body is still getting used to it BUT am I supposed to start my period today since i start taking the placebo pills or does it start when i start the new pack? I started Beyaz on the day OF my period. I've had spotting which my doctor explained is normal but does this mean that I'm not going to get my period this month? We've had unprotected sex but I'm not worried although my first week of starting the pill I was taking antibiotics but was on my period and had unprotected sex does any of that affect my chances of being pregnant?

Also, don't know if its too much info but I read that birth control is supposed to lower your libido..... yea- I'm having the TOTAL opposite effects... is this normal too? has anyone experienced that while on birth control?

So basically I'm a horny emotional girl on birth control who is unsure when she's supposed to get her period because its her first time and month using birth control.

Hope all makes sence. Please help.

  • completely normal- but its recommended to still have PROTECTED sex, even more so on the first month. I started the pill a month ago, and was getting crazy mood swings and nausea, but now (started placebo pills) i've been fine for almost a week. The mood swings should go away, but it could take up to three months. If they continue, talk to your doctor and maybe he'll prescribe another pill:)

Where do I start? It usually takes 3 months for your body to adjust to the pill. If it's really bad, tell the doc and get a different kind. I went through 4 different kinds before I found one that didn't make me uber crazy or cause a weird side effect. The sun allergy was the weirdest.

Antibiotics will make the pill not work for birth control so you should have a back up plan. The doctor should have told you this.

I'm unfamiliar with the lower libido issue but birth control fucks with your hormones so it isn't beyond the realm of possibility.

As for when you will start. Listen to your body. It can start anytime while on the placebo pills. Make a note of when it does and compare it to the next month. It will take several months for your body to regulate itself. You should also note the other symptoms you feel and when they occur. How long, how heavy, etc. It's your body, know it well.

Well, all of the side effects are normal.
You're supposed to use condoms for at least the first week or two, but antibiotics add another 2 weeks to that. So yeah, you could be pregnant. Don't expect to have a normal period for at least 3-6 months after starting the pill. You could have it constantly or not at all.

Ok, the antibiotics cam deactivate the pills when taken together. Also, you were supposed to start the pills the day After your period stops. Yes it is normal to feel emotional and to have an increased libido. It may be a good idea to use something else in addition to the pills as your birth control method (I.e. Condoms)

You are supposed to use a back-up method for the first month starting the pill!

When I took the pill, my period usually came by the second or third day of taking placebo.

The emotional stuff could be PMS. U shouldn't be having unprotected sex for at least the first month of starting your pill and antibiotics make the pill ineffective. There are heaps if different contraceptive pills so if u don't feel that ones right for u, try a another one.

BC can really mess up your hormones & have crappy effects. Facts of life.
