Is it normal to feel like the ugly friend?

Well, just to put it out there, is it normal to feel like the ugly friend? I mean, I'm not fat. I'm not thin either though. My friends, the only people I actually can stand, just happen to be smaller than me with more attractive facial expressions. I just feel like when I go with them to places- I embarrass them because I just seem a lot plainer and bigger compared to them. It just feels pathetic.

Well, looks are second to personality by far according to a lot of polls here.

Also, if your "attractive" friends are hanging out with you, you must have something else going for you.

Maybe according to the media and those that pay attention to the media, but if you look at survey responses and studies, people really do seem to care about personality more.

At least among my friends (I'm a guy) we all kind of agree that good looks and no personality always loses to no looks and a good personality.

It is ok if your friends do not say anything it is because they like you for you. They like you for who you are and not what you look like.

True friends should not care less if you are ugly, or even plain disgusting to look at. Friendship is NOT about looks.
Its sad that many people seem to believe that they are ugly and therefore not worthy of being loved ...STAHP!

Maybe you should hit the gym and get some self confidence?

Stop it stop it stop it!!! Girls really need to stop this nonsense!!! Do you realize that no one looks at you quite the way you look at yourself? You are stressing yourself out unnecessarily. Premature aging will come of it!!!! If it really bothers you so much, change instead of complaining.

It is normal. But you must try to remember that nobody is ugly. Ugly is such a a harsh word. Yes, maybe your friends have better features ect ect ect. But you are not ugly. Telling them how you feel will let you realise their opinion on this matter.

I doubt your friends feel that way but you do sound like a boost to your confidence couldn't hurt. They are your friends. Tell them you've been feeling a bit drab-looking and see if they have any ideas. BTW I don't think you should compete with and envy friends such that you feel inferior (or conversely, superior) - that is not healthy so stop it.

HA HA yeah it totally is because when i see a group of hot girls walking by, I'm thinking what a wonderful world then there is always someone in the crowd that spoils the picture that looks like she don't belong. I grimace and the girls immediately know what the problem is.
    such a pity
