Is it normal to feel like the sole parental figure of your pet?

My current dog was born in my house, but tragically her mother died soon after. I was the first human being to touch and hold my current dog. Since it was the beginning summer, I was able to stay home and raise her by hand. I kept her warm at night, I bottle fed her multiple times a day, I pretty much had to teach her how to be a dog. I’m all she knows as a parental figure and she’s like a child to me. She makes me so proud every single day! Is this normal?
