Is it normal to feel like the room is spinning when you stand up

So i was just diagnosed for having vitreal fluid tugging on my retina a few days ago. But now sometimes when i roll over or even stand up from maybe having my eyes closed or what not, the room spins and i stumble a little. Is this normal? Btw im diabetic but this doesnt seem to be from blood sugar

That, my friend, is what we call vertigo. The liquid in your inner ear responsible for balance can get thrown off balance due to changing positions, laying down or standing up fast, etc. I suffered from a bad case in which the dizziness, room spinning, nausea feeling lasted for a week. Go to a doctor. The ones at the emergency room did this procedure in which I laid on my back. The doc held my head one way and I slow twisted my body the other way. I was also told to sleep at bout a 45 degree angle to prevent this from happening. I have never had the dizziness last for more than few hours at max. Try motion sickness pills or laying in the dark with a cool rag on your eyes. It definitely helps me out!

Look up the diagnosis you were given online on a trusted medical website. Or, call your doctor's office and ask to speak with him/her or a nurse and they should be able to answer that for you. Considering your problem, it doesn't sound abnormal but just because it's not abnormal to your diagnosis, doesn't mean it isn't a bad sign. Please check with a medical professional to make sure you're doing as ok as possible under the circumstances :)
