Is it normal to feel like some people you meet are from the future?

It all began in 2006 on the bus ride from downtown. The digital screen flashed the future date March 26 2026. I sat near the back waiting for my destination, stoned and apprehensive, wondering were it that I should arrive in same year of which I'd left that morning. Fortunately, it was.

But two years later a man emerged from the ocean, as if reborn to the world. No one noticed, save for my sister and I, but I swear to you he appeared from the depths of the sea and happy to be alive!

Now the time has come. Strange things are happening. A girl I know reminds me of my daughter... 20 years into the future! I don't want dive into detail, but I think I'm going to die that year and my daughter has transported, via ocean, from the future to spend time with me before my inevitable outcome. Has anyone else felt this way about a person?

Key point "I was high". So you were probably high and that man you saw was in your imagination. Realize what you see when your HIGH is not necessarily what is going on.

        Too late for that child!

        But still... Thank ya

    I only have more questions:
Are you sure the man hadn't just gone for a swim?
Have you spoken to the girl you think is your daughter about this?
Have you ever had any visions or 'senses' of the future? Do you get déjà vu a lot?

      Good questions!

It literally looked as if he walked up the ocean floor and I didn't see him anywhere near the area beforehand. But, yes, it is possible that I just didn't notice him.

I have not. I don't want her to think I'm a freak. I doubt she'd judge me and she seems to think in a similar way to me, but... How do you tell someone that, you know?

I've had one major seemingly prophetic dream, around 2006 actually. I still think about it pretty regularly. It led me to a bible passage that could possibly give clues to its meaning. Other than that, it's hard to say. I can sometimes make minor predictions, but I know others who do this as well and more often. It just seems normal now.

I used to get déjà vu a lot, but I think it's been replaced with another feeling that is hard to describe. It seems more real and purposeful.

Do you find that it's like trying to unlock a puzzle or something? Like the clues are being given to you and you feel like you're supposed to make sense of it for some purpose, but it's really really hard?
Maybe I'm a bit off the mark though.

And so your daughter is quite young? I can understand you not asking the old her directly. Maybe you should, I know it will sound crazy. And her response probably won't even clear things up...

        • Yes, exactly! So, why do you ask? Do you know secrets? :)

I have had similar bizarre experiences... They're strange to talk about. But I don't know any secrets for sure - just more confusion.
            But more about this first;

So just to clarify, you've given birth to your daughter, yeah?
And the future her - do you think that she literally travelled back in time here? Or could it bit more metaphysical than that? I mean....what do I mean...? Like her 'consciousness' has sort of travelled back or something?

Do you often get moments where 'clues' kind of strike you as significant or meaningful? Or like where you're trying hard to focus on "remembering" what they mean? -does that make any sense?

I mean, maybe we just suffer from the same mental illness.... honestly it's a possibility.

That last part there, I definitely relate to that. It makes perfect sense to me. I'm constantly making these connections and coming up with possible conclusions (often many conclusions until I'm at least somewhat satisfied with one). And I will hold onto these conclusions as truth, mentally collecting related data until proven otherwise, in which case I will alter my theory or simply move on to the next thing. However I know it is very likely that I'm just perpetuating something through my imagination.Still, these things feel very real sometimes and even the physical world and other people might seem to be affected by them.

With that said, I can't deny the possibility that this girl has somehow traveled backwards in time, aside from the paradoxes and such. I haven't considered her consciousness traveling back, but I can assure you it will be on my mind now. At the same time, I know it's a silly thought.

              What mental illness is it?

How to tell if your friend has been time travelling and hiding it from you:

*They appear in old photographs, usually wearing a wristwatch.

*They use phrases like, "just in time" or "I'll see you in another time" with a strange look in their eyes.

*If your friend is somebody credited with creating various books/songs/scientific theories etc. it is likely that they have been time travelling.

*They are very good at gambling.

*Their house is full of clocks. Note: not all time travellers choose this style, but it seems to be popular.

*They drink pepsi. Be careful here; most people who drink pepsi only wish they were time travellers.

Interesting thread and just above here it took a sharp turn right into the toilet which coincidentally I am sitting on dropping a mammoth deuce.

  • Sometimes I wonder if strangers I see are really people from the future that have come back to watch me. I don't have any proof or actually believe in them, but it is an amusing thought! Nothing like what you claim to experience though.

Well that's how it started with me ;)... the future man from the ocean.

No, I get visions sometimes but it is quite impossible for people to come back in time. It creates a paradox that would destroy the universe you see.

It is true. It could destroy the fabric of the space-time continuum.

Fairly sure, but there could always be some strange exception that the great cat has not picked up on.

    • Thanks. I figure even if there are no future people perhaps it would make a good read.
