Is it normal to feel like i need a relationship?

I've been single all my life. I'm an 18 yr old male. I've been friendzoned a couple of times and had a couple of one night stands but nothing serious has ever emerged. Many times, I feel lonely - and not because I lack friends - but because I feel like I need someone to love, joke around with, have sex, and do all the fun things couples do. Every time I think about it, it makes me sad to know ive never been able to get someone to love me as a boyfriend. Is it normal to have been single so long and to constantly feel sad about it?

ALL MY LIFE? 18 years old?
Let's be a tiny bit realistic here; you are just beginning life, not half way though. Be a bit patient, you have plenty of time for the wonderful experience of having a best friend, lover and companion all rolled into one, in your life.
Just relax, dude, it will surely happen, more than once.

We are going to need a ferry not a boat because I feel the same way. I've never had a boyfriend- I've only ever got with people while drunk but I want more than that and I'm too I'm too impatient to wait for 'Mr Right'

At least you've gotten some action. I'm in the same situation minus the action. I actually fell in love once and it was amazing, but she friendzoned me and then things got bad between us, and now we're not even friends. Fuck relationships.

Sorry you feel that way. :( You sound like a lot of guys I know who have been hurt by idiot females who didn't know what they wanted and/or what they had. If you fell in love once, that means you're capable of it again with the right person. It'll happen. And I bet she'll be hot as f*ck too.

The purpose of life is to form meaningful relationships, to do useful work, and to leave more than you took. What you want is a big part of that and to regret that it hasn't happened yet is completely normal.

Not only is there a person for you out there, there are many possible people. You just have to meet them.

Yes of course, I'd say almost everyone feels this way at some point, and often. Its normal and fine but I think its a bit self destructive to stay on that for too long. I have a friend that says things like that far too much for my liking which annoys me because he has accomplished things in life that I currently haven't but instead of having fun and living it up, he is overly down about the lack of a female.

I personally felt that my best relationships, the few that they were, were the ones where I wasn't even looking at all and things just...happened. I believe it'll be like that for you too. It just hasn't happened yet but it will. Besides, think of all the people dating the wrong kinds of people. People who make excuses for their partner and won't dump them, dangerous people who can hurt someone or their kids, or just sex partners with no real connection other than a relationship status. Chin up Anonymous~ 18 isn't 48, have some fun, own some people in SSF4, and a girl will show up in no time.
