Is it normal to feel like i can't move on from this girl?

I'm a 23 year old guy, and I fell deeply in love with my best friend (a girl). She had feelings for me at one point, and I was too slow and stupid to notice and she got over them. Well wouldn't you have it I finally realized that I was in love with her. I told her how I felt, but I could tell she didn't have those feelings anymore, so we agreed then it would be better to stay best friends.

However a short time ago I was being a supportive friend and she confessed that I was the only guy that was ever nice to her and that actually likes her, and then she admitted that she kinda hopes maybe one day we'll end up together when the timing is better.

I'm wondering if its normal for me to hold onto the idea that maybe one day we'll end up together? Or is it better to try and move on and let time decide what happens? I'm deeply in love with this girl and I just don't know what to do, any advice is greatly appreciated.

    Dude, first of all. She isn't into you.

    she just wants you to think there is a chance so she can keep stringing you along for the attention and reassurance you provide, until romeo comes along.

    sorry to be so blunt but you learn these things after a while.

    Main problem is you are not a challenge, your acting like a big caring pussy.

    I'd say personally it's too late to repair things with this woman.

    You need to move on and rebuild your self esteem in solitude for a few months.

    And don't go chasing after mrs right. because women don't like being chased after by a man who thinks she is his only option.

      It's funny that you commented when you did, because you're 100% right and ironically I cut her out of my life as of yesterday. It's hard as hell though, this girl was supposed to be my best friend. But its time to finally move on.

      I appreciate your being blunt though, sometimes it takes brutal honesty to make people realize about things that have to be done. Thanks for the help.
