Is it normal to feel like a burden?

I'm about 5 years younger than my boyfriend. I constantly get in trouble with the law and all my boyfriend does is give me advice and be very sweet etc (he's great).

Anyway, I complain to him I feel like I'm the only one screwing up and I feel like a burden to him and I apologize for acting so out-of-order.

All he does is console me and tell me he cares and wants me to share my problems with him and everyone screws up blah blah..

Is it normal to feel like a burden to someone to the point where leaving them seems like a good idea to spare them having to deal with me?

Why don't you just try to change?

I have tried and changed a lot, for the better. However, this dark cloud and feeling of worthlessness seems to follow me everywhere. He is one of my (very) few support systems. I feel like I'm just dragging him down.

Well start small. Can you try to stop getting involved with the law?

At least you are realising what you are doing.

Great that you have such a caring and supportive boyfriend. I'm sure you can get through this, especially with the support from your him. Sounds like you have a pretty low opinion of yourself. I know what it's like to feel a bit worthless but in time you can feel better about yourself and gradually things will get better. Also, maybe getting on the wrong side of the law etc. is a form of self sabotage? First you have to believe you deserve better.

It's normal to feel this way in this situation. I know this feeling but I had left the guy because I didn't love him and I was hurting him more than doing him good. If you love him try to change lile Short4Words suggests.
